Shooting Starr Sports Training Programs and Philosophy

Our courses are presented in a family friendly environment and directed towards new beginning shooters.

• Ladies, my wife and I will do our very best to make you feel right at home, so that you can become comfortable when handling and shooting firearms.

• Parents, you are encouraged to bring your children (ages 10 and up) for a family training class. Or, one just for the kids.

• Couples and small groups of friends are always welcome.

• And, of course, family and group rates are available.

In order to ensure the most positive training experience, we always try and keep our classes small. This enables us to give you the most personal attention in a safe and friendly atmosphere. Just one more point: I teach using the KISS principle, Keep it Simple Stupid. You are coming to learn to handle and shoot firearms safely. You are coming to learn the fundamentals, which is the goal of our course, so I won’t try and sell you anything. Nor will I try to impress you with what I know. Yes, our little store has some items for sale and I can order you pretty much anything you may want. But that is not my goal. I am a teacher first, and my goal is for you to learn to shoot and do so safely.

Thank you,
Dale Starr

The WHAT YOU REALLY NEED TO KNOW Florida Concealed Carry course:

NOTE: this is not a 2 or 3 hour BS course where you shoot one or two bullets into a barrel just to get the basic check in the block for the state.

This course is designed to cover the basic safety and shooting information, including: firearms, ammunition, accessories and legalities of carrying a concealed firearm. Because carrying a gun carries with it a set of moral and legal obligations that set the Armed Citizen apart from the rest of the community. In order to protect yourself, your family, and society you need to understand these obligations. And folks, you can’t begin to scratch the surface of this material in 2 or 3 hours at the gun show. The program that I teach is an intensive two day program including classroom lectures with videos, dry fire training, and concludes with three hours of live fire range exercises!

During the course of these two days we will cover the following topics:

• Developing a personal protection plan
• Self-Defense firearms basics
• Shooting fundamentals
• The legal use of force
• Florida law covering carrying a concealed weapon
• Violent encounters and their aftermath
• Concealed Carry gear and equipment
• Basic and advanced shooting skills

This cost of this course is $200.00. This may seem like a lot. But not when you consider that you are going to be depending on these new skills. You will actually have the ability to carry and use your gun to protect your life and the lives of those you love. In that respect, it is a bargain.
