Good Evening Everyone,
Well I am sure that we all have that one favorite gun we love to shoot the most. It may not be the best in our collection or have the most personal meaning to it, but it is still your favorite. It just feels like an natural extension of your body and you know you can always rely on it. Well I thought I would share a photo of mine today. It is a Para Ordnance P-14 45 Limited. For those of you that don’t know Para is the company that started the high capacity 1911 movement. My P-14 holds 14 rounds of 45 cal. in the mag and of course 1 in the pipe. So it has a lot of fire power when you need it.
It is one of their older guns made in Canada and I know that I have put over 5000 rounds through it so far and will add to that number another 100 or maybe 200 today. Like the old Timex commercial said ‘It takes a lickin and keeps on ticken”. So far I have replaced the recoil spring a 4 times and the main spring once. It wears Houge finger grips and has adjustable rear sight with a post front site. I plan on doing an article on the gun itself to show the wear patterns on the various parts after so many rounds have been through it. Most guns never fire this many rounds, so I thought it would be useful to know just how tough a good gun can be.
Well take care out there and enjoy the photos.
