Gun show weekend

Good Morning Gun Fans

I spent a the weekend at the Gun show down at the fairgrounds in Jacksonville.  Met some great and interesting people.  I had a nice long talk with a Korean war vet, and several Vietnam vets. Ok now some of you are thinking old  guys and guess what, your right we are older but hopefully wiser. I did actually do some work at the show, I appraised several guns including a beautiful Colt Trooper Mk III, it didn’t appear to have ever been fired, no visible wear anywhere on the gun. It certainly had never seen the inside of a holster.

Of course the show had a lot of guns for sale and I saw one that has been on my Christmas wish list since it came out a little over a year ago. A Smith & Wesson Performance Center 1911 Commander sized 45 ACP.  Very light weight with excellent balance. When I get to add it to my collection I will post it with my shooting impressions. But don’t hold your breath as it may not be this Christmas;-( But such is life.

Overall it was a good show, but not a lot of sales were made by the dealers at the show, a couple even said it was not worth their time .

So, despite what Washington says it doesn’t seem like the average gun shower attendee is really a buyer but instead like me a looker and adding to their wish list. I saw a lot of individuals walking around trying to sell their guns to the dealers and other attendees. Some of them did seem to be selling but not at the advertized prices. It appears most people were buying accessories more than guns but Christmas is coming soon, so it will be interesting to see if the market changes at the next show in December.

Well take care out there and be safe in Cyberspace and especially here in Reality

S3.
